Wasted Energy

The Malaysia supply standard is 230 volts with a tolerance of +10%, -6% ie. the voltage range can be 253 volts to 216.2 volts. Loads losses are generally reduced by operating modem at rated Voltage. Generally equipment manufactured for the world markets is designed to run at 220/230 volts. Therefore, in some cases equipment is being run at a higher voltage ie. 250 V than necessary and this can lead to wasted energy.

DATA OF INTERNET MODEM OERATING  AT HIGHER VOLTAGE THAN NECESSARY.

WHEN APPLY RATED  230V POWER CONSUMED  BY MODEM IS 8.5 Watts, and

9.5W AT 250V

LOSSES 1.0W
So, if your modem operates for 24 hours this lead to wasted energy of 24Wh, or 8.76kWh for a year.
